Petco Park in San Diego
PETCO Park stadium is a beautiful structure dedicated to hosting baseball games, as well as many other sporting and entertainment events, concerts, motor sports events and more.

PETCO Park first opened in 2004 and is home to the local San Diego Padres the Major League Baseball team. The massive stadium is a beautiful structure dedicated to hosting baseball games, as well as many other sporting and entertainment events, concerts, motor sports events and more. Barry Bonds famously tied Hank Aaron’s 755 home run record here.  PETCO Park is located just a ½ mile from The Keating.

The San Diego Air & Space Museum is an amazing aviation and space exploration museum located in San Diego. Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego Air & Space Museum is in the former Ford Building, which is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. Dozens of interesting exhibits draw millions of visitors to the San Diego Air and Space Museum. 

Visitors can explore exhibits such as the Edwin D. McKellar Pavilion of Flight, the Modern Jet & Space Age Gallery, the World War I Gallery and many others. In addition to the permanent exhibits are special rotating exhibits, so repeat visitors will always see something new.

The San Diego Zoo is located on 100 acres within Balboa Park, another top San Diego Attraction. You may choose to spend a day at both the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park.

3. San Diego Zoo

The USS Midway Museum is a historical naval aircraft carrier museum located in the San Diego Harbor at Navy Pier in downtown San Diego.  USS Midway Museum is easily one of the most popular San Diego Attractions, and a ‘must-see’ if you visit San Diego. 

More than 225,000 sailors served onboard the Midway, an aircraft carrier turned Museum that houses an extensive collection of aircraft, many of which were built in Southern California.  Visitors can learn about life onboard, see the 29 painstakingly restored aircraft and even learn to fly in a flight simulator.

6. Gaslamp Quarter

Fleet Science Center is the very popular science museum and planetarium located in Balboa Park just 1.3 miles from The Keating Hotel.  This exciting San Diego Attraction is enjoyed by visitors of all ages from children to adults who enjoy learning from over 100 interactive science exhibits, and other exhibits, like the Origins of Space, Kid City, Cellular Journey and more. 

The Science Center’s planetarium presents several presentations in their IMAX Dome Theater even an interesting motion simulator ride that presents a production of a comet traveling through space and to the earth.
